Rent the Wild Blu in Bellevue, WA: a custom-built camper van with solar power, indoor shower, A/C, and a cozy full bed for two.
About This Van
The Wild Blu is a custom-built camper van rental based in Bellevue, Washington, and it is the kind of rig that makes you want to point the nose east toward the Cascades and just drive. Born as a COVID-era passion project and lovingly refined over several years of real-world adventure, this van has been dialed in from suspension to shower to suit travelers who want genuine comfort without sacrificing access to the wild places.
Built on a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170 chassis, the Wild Blu is 22 feet of thoughtfully designed living space that has already logged miles across the Olympic Peninsula, northeast Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Eastern Washington. As of fall 2025, it received a brand-new custom kitchen and a multi-functional window seat that adds serious storage and makes extended touring genuinely enjoyable.
This is not a stock conversion with a few accessories bolted in. The Wild Blu was imagined from the ground up, and every inch of it reflects that care.
The Wild Blu sleeps two adults in real comfort, centered around a full-size memory foam mattress that makes a meaningful difference after a long day on the trail or behind the wheel. The bed is fixed and ready to go every night, so there is no reconfiguring furniture or hunting for bedding before you can lie down.
Two seatbelts mean two passengers can ride safely, and the sleeping capacity matches that perfectly.
- Bed configuration: 1 Full (fixed)
- Mattress: Queen-size memory foam (as described by owner)
- Sleeps: 2
- Seatbelts: 2
The kitchen inside the Wild Blu received a full custom rebuild as of fall 2025, and the result is a genuinely functional cooking space that makes meal prep on the road feel less like a compromise and more like a pleasure. You have a stove for hot meals, a refrigerator to keep your ingredients fresh, a kitchen sink with running water, and enough counter and storage space to actually work with.
The new window seat adds even more storage to keep your gear organized and your counters clear. This is a setup that supports real cooking, not just reheating snacks.
- Stove: Yes
- Refrigerator: Yes
- Kitchen sink: Yes (with running water)
- Hot water: Yes
- Storage: Custom kitchen cabinetry plus multi-functional window seat
- Cargo garage: Full-extension 3 ft x 5 ft drawer
The Wild Blu runs on a capable off-grid power setup anchored by rooftop solar and a robust lithium battery bank. The solar input keeps the batteries topped up during sunny stretches, and the lithium chemistry means the batteries can be drawn down further and recharged more efficiently than older lead-acid systems.
On cloudy Pacific Northwest days, the engine can also charge the batteries while idling, and shore power hookup is available at campgrounds that offer it. An inverter is on board to power AC devices when needed.
- Solar: 500W rooftop solar panel
- Battery bank: Dual Victron 200Ah LiFePO4 lithium batteries (400Ah total)
- Inverter: Yes (present on board)
- Shore power (electric hookup): Yes
- Engine charging: Available via idling
The Wild Blu carries a 22-gallon fresh water tank, which gives you a solid multi-day supply for cooking, washing up, and showering without needing to hunt for a fill station every day or two. The gray tank holds 14 gallons, and both potable water and a water hookup connection are available.
The indoor shower is fully custom built and gives you a real rinse-off experience after a dusty hike or a day on the river. An outdoor shower is also available for rinsing gear or washing off before stepping inside.
- Fresh water tank: 22 gallons
- Gray tank: 14 gallons
- Potable water: Yes
- Water hookup: Yes
- Indoor shower: Yes (custom built)
- Outdoor shower: Yes
- Hot water: Yes
- Toilet: Not included
The Wild Blu is built on a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170, one of the most proven and driver-friendly platforms in the camper van world. The automatic transmission makes it accessible even for drivers who have not piloted a larger vehicle before, and the diesel engine delivers strong torque for mountain passes and loaded highway driving.
At 22 feet in length, it fits in most standard campground sites and many urban parking situations, though a little extra awareness goes a long way. The backup camera takes the stress out of reversing into tight spots.
- Chassis: 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170
- Fuel type: Diesel
- Transmission: Automatic
- Length: 22 feet
- Backup camera: Yes
- Seatbelts: 2
The Wild Blu is built for genuine off-grid travel, not just campground hopping. With 500W of rooftop solar feeding a 400Ah lithium battery bank, you can run the refrigerator, charge devices, power the ceiling fan, and use the inverter for extended periods without needing shore power.
The 22-gallon fresh water tank and on-board hot water system mean you can camp far from hookups for several days at a stretch. Electric and water hookups are available for campground stays when you want them, but this van does not need them to keep you comfortable.
The ceiling fan and air conditioning handle temperature management, while the heater keeps things warm during cool Pacific Northwest nights.
